This Caspian Tern sweeps low over the Coorong, its long wings slicing the air with precision. The world's largest tern, it's a master of aerial hunting, scanning the water for fish before plunging head‑first in a flash of white and red. Its commanding flight and vivid bill make it one of the most striking birds along South Australia's coast. [1883]
