A seemingly derelict crane decorates Ivanhoe station, probably a relic from steamtrain days when locomotives had to recoal and rewater. Who knows? Maybe it`s used for goods loading and unloading? Ivanhoe station is a cross-over point in the single track railway, and an eastbound goods train waited patiently on the bypass line for the Outback XPlorer to pass. [1984]
